SOLVE Stories from the Ground – Participate in the campaign to raise awareness on your work in conflicts and conflicting situations

iSCAN is soon launching its project ‘SOLVE “Stories from the Ground’. The project aims to shed light on the important work done by organisations in addressing conflicts and conflicting situations, as well as providing to the wider public information about the situation ‘on the ground’. This can be in conflict-ridden countries by everyday people who live it or by organisations working to make a change with regards to conflict prevention, resolution, management, and peoples’ livelihoods, with a specific focus on young people.

Are you situated in or working in the field of conflicts or in a conflict-ridden country? You can help raise awareness on the issue and join iSCAN in their campaign! This can be through short stories in audio, video format, or written text with accompanying visuals – should you wish to – that constitute unfiltered, real, authentic ‘stories from the ground’, that raise awareness about your particular situation in your community and how your organisation’s work can make a change.

A list of questions have been established as a guideline for your short story to reach the goal of awareness together.

  • How do you describe the situation (100 words)
  • How does it affect young people (100 words)
  • What is your organization doing in response (100 words)
  • What challenges do you face (100 words)
  • What have you achieved so far (100 words)
  • What are your goals for the future (100 words)

The questions cans be answered by your organisations’members but also from people, especially young people, that your organisation’s work is focused on.

Submission of the Contribution

The content can be submitted in the form of:

  • Two or three short texts of max.200 words each, accompanied with two or three photos/visuals relevant to the text content (so that two or three visuals/posts can be created with them). The texts can be answering some of the questions mentioned above, while the photos/visuals must be related to the organization’s work or the situation on the ground (e.g. showing members of the organization providing assistance to trafficking victims, or showing refugees waiting to enter a camp, or showing young people in a safe house during hostilities).
  • Or with a short video of max. 60’’ (accompanied with the transcript).

Within the video, one or more members of the organisation can be answering some of the questions mentioned above, while the video can also include some photos/visuals popping that related to the organization’s work or the situation on the ground (e.g. showing members of the organisation providing assistance to trafficking victims, or showing refugees waiting to enter a camp).

Deadline

The deadline to hand in your contribution will be January 22nd. If you wish to contribute but you will not be able to have finished your text or video, please do let us know before January 20nd and we will ensure that iSCAN can receive your contribution a bit after the deadline.
