On Tuesday, December 2nd, WFAD-DRC Office Country and Deputy Country Representatives, Dandy Yela and Sarah Bitamazire made a courtesy visit to the DRC Ministry of Social Affairs, Mrs Rose BOYATA MONKAJU.
The delegation presented the WFAD respects to the Minister and thanked the DRC Government- through the Minister- for the official authorization granted to our organization to open office and implement activities in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Besides this, the WFAD delegation took the opportunity to present the ‘Sober Youth-Healthier Communities’ project to the Minister and the progress made so far with implementing partners. This three-year project funded by the Swedish Cooperation – Sida – is carried out by the WFAD in collaboration with four partners, Living Peace Institute, Interactions-rdc, Dynaic for Actions & Solidarity and Synergie des Femmes.
The DRC Ministry of Social Affairs declared her willingness and readiness to work and collaborate with the World Federation Against Drugs. She also mentioned that she would like to see the ‘Sober Youth-Healthier Communities’ project be extended to other municipalities of the city of Kinshasa.
