On February 1st and 2nd, WFAD joined the 4th Summit of the Istanbul Initiative organised by the Turkish Green Crescent in Istanbul, Turkey. Together with 35 international non-governmental organisations, which accounted for 55 representatives from 33 countries, discussions were held on today’s issues and global strategies for the prevention of substance abuse were developed to create a sustainable future. The Summit was held in a hybrid format with in-person participants at the Green Crescent Headquarters and online participants. The collaboration defines a strong partnership among organisations in our field working towards strengthening prevention, increasing access to treatment, and promoting recovery.
