66th Commission on Narcotic Drugs – An Overview

The 66th Session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) will occur between March 13th and 17th in Vienna, Austria. This year, Civil Society and Member States are able to meet again in person while there will also be the possibility to join the CND virtually. The week will revolve around the Plenary session, in which Member States will vote on proposed resolutions and Side Events organised by the Civil Society. We are honoured to announce that we are [co-]organising a new record of 12 side-events this year. Below, we will be sharing our side events, including the Room number as well as the link (if available) for virtual participation.

For more information and the latest updates regarding the CND itself, visit the CND website.
If you want to join virtually, the CND Plenary will be live-streamed via UNWebTV or their conference event platform. Find more information on online participation here. Many side events will also be available for online participation via a zoom link. Some, however, only offer in-person attendance. Find the full CND agenda, including the side events, here.

Young people are often at the centre of drug policy-related discussions and related services, such as prevention
programmes. Yet, the voices of youth themselves are scarcely
included in discussions and decisions that concern them. By
highlighting professional development opportunities
within the drug policy sphere such as youth forums and
networks, vocational training and income generating
programmes, as well as advocacy efforts by young
people from two youth-led networks, this side event seeks
to offer means for young people’s voices to be heard on
the international arena.
