Day 12 – WFADs 16 Days of Activism with ICCAO Advocating for Reproductive Health

As we embark on the 12th day of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, we shine a spotlight on ICCAO, an organization dedicated to empowering youth, especially young women, adolescent girls, and children. Through their comprehensive programs and unwavering commitment to gender equality, ICCAO is driving transformative change in communities.

ICCAO focuses its efforts on three key areas:

  • Social Services: Addressing critical health issues such as the effects of drugs and alcohol, mental health challenges, HIV/AIDS, and sexually transmitted diseases. Their work ensures young people have the knowledge to make informed decisions and access the support they need.
  • Economic Empowerment: Creating pathways for financial independence through training, mentorship, and opportunities, particularly for young women.
  • Civic Education: Equipping youth with knowledge about their rights and responsibilities, fostering active participation in building equitable and informed communities.

Gender equality is the backbone of ICCAO’s approach, woven into every advocacy effort, project, program, and partnership. Their work not only empowers individuals but also addresses systemic barriers that perpetuate inequality.

As part of the WFAD campaign, ICCAO created a compelling video that speaks up about gender-based violence and its devastating impact on women and girls. The video also highlights the importance of reproductive health, advocating for improved healthcare access, informed decision-making, and the eradication of stigma surrounding reproductive health issues. These are essential steps toward breaking cycles of violence and inequality.

We invite you to watch this powerful video and join ICCAO in taking a stand against gender-based violence. Together, we can raise awareness, promote health and empowerment, and work toward a future where everyone can live free from violence and discrimination.
