On November 19, 2025, the webinar #PreventionThatWorks was held. The webinar was held as a follow-up to the “Prevention Gone Wrong: What We’ve Learned the Hard Way”, held by UTRIP on October 20th. The previous webinar shared insights into prevention science and the importance of interesting evidence in our prevention efforts and policymaking, which is still too often overlooked.
While also finalising the #PreventionThatWorks social media campaign, the webinar dove into actionable models of prevention, providing tools that can be applied in local and national contexts. Furthermore, it highlighted the essential role of young people, who should not only be seen as beneficiaries but as active contributors, as co-creators of programmes, voices shaping decisions, and prevention influencers among their peers. We were joined by experts and youth representatives, including Wadih Malouf (UNODC), Susan Maua (NACADA), Matej Kosir (UTRIP), Aliyu Mukhtar Usman (Youth Leader of the African Union Youth Forum on Drugs), and Aparna Vinod (So-Y).
The webinar has been summarised and recorded. Read the Summary here
