On 23 November, Paul and some of the East and Central Africa Drug and Crime Prevention Network Members including the Chairman, Mr George and Secretary-General, Jane, visited the National Authority for the Campaign against Drugs (NACADA) office and met with the CEO Mr Victor Okioma and handed over the Network’s Kampala Declaration. This is in the spirit of forging cooperation and working partnership with the government in meeting the common objectives of mitigating drug use, crime and related social ills in the local and regional society. It was agreed that civil societies need to work together under a common umbrella for a stronger voice of prevention, to realize better impacts.
The Kampala declaration was created and signed at the WFAD East African Regional Workshop and Forum, in Uganda in February.
